After years of navigating boardrooms, decoding committee roles, and championing Integrity when it wasn’t the easy choice, I’ve finally put it to paper. This is the compliance book I had to write. It isn’t just a title. It’s a reflection of my journey, the challenges I’ve faced, and the beliefs I’ve held dear. If you’ve ever felt like governance was more than policy—more than risk management, more than silos and strategy—this book speaks your language. It’s personal. It’s precise. And yes, it’s purposefully human.
I didn’t write Compliance Officers Are People, Too to add one more book to the shelf—I wrote it to reframe how we talk about compliance altogether. In every space I’ve worked, I’ve seen what’s possible when structure meets values, and when compliance shifts from enforcement to influence. I’ve helped reshape programs, redefine roles, and center integrity in decision-making. And I wanted to give others the language and framework to do the same.
The book is almost ready—and I’m proud of what it holds. It’s built from real experience, honest reflection, and a deep belief that compliance professionals aren’t just there to uphold policies—they’re culture-shapers, connectors, and strategic leaders.
When readers finish the book, I hope they leave with:
- A front-row seat to the reality of compliance—candid, complex, and deeply human
- A clearer view of how governance operates when values take the lead
- A deeper understanding of what integrity looks like under pressure
- A fresh mindset: compliance not as control, but as a culture that shapes everything
This moment marks the beginning of something I’ve long believed in. Compliance Officers Are People, Too is nearly here—and so is Desired Integrity, my consultancy dedicated to helping organizations and individual leaders do this work with purpose.
More soon. And I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your interest and for being part of this journey.
When integrity leads, progress follows
Signed with Purpose, Desiree
